The secret is to have fun and enjoy it, and know you can always go back to the original file and change it or start again in a different direction.
Thanks

Gareth

The sky is dry and dull. The subject of the photo, the girl, was hard to appreciate. But the shot was great. It's just that you missed many of the major elements.
However, this can still be improved by either placing the cottage somewhere away from the center and making the first part of the 'path' bigger. The mangroves didn't also help and the cottage from afar is distracting; that damaged the essence of the whole 'destiny' concept.
Long exposure time with camera resting on railing. PP in Adobe Lightroom 4. Adjusted contrast and saturation. Can't decide if I should try to straighten the picture (and if I did what would I straighten it off of... the first horizontal beam at the bottom of the picture?).

Canon 30D, f/22, 1/8 sec, ISO 1600, Canon EFS 18-55mm

Can't help but wonder if editing out the building logo (far left) and lit offices (center) would make them less distracting. Curious - did you fiddle with the colors? Very easy to make the colors burnout but you clearly avoided that. Great shot!
